I'm here now, and although it's cost me $60 for the week, I have private internet access. Smashing stuff. I'll blog at various intervals I suspect.

Indeed, and what a holiday it is. The battle between writing and procrastinating was re-started last night and at dusk there was an uneasy cease-fire agreed. The locals are hopeful for peace, but the grunts are as trigger happy as ever. Who will fire the first shot?
I chose to bypass jet lag by getting up at 4am, so I'll stay on Eastern Time. That should work.
didn't realise it would be so jatlag-inspriring. make sure you go on one of those tram things with levers instead of steering wheels/engines etc; swim over to 'traz and throw a handful of coloured bouncey balls down a hill whilst singing Jose Gonzalez. I trust you got the ad in the US...
No i've not seen the ad. I doubt I'll do much sight-seeing to be honest (isn't that an odd phrase? you don't go 'sound-hearing' at a gig do you?) as still need to prepare the presentation for Friday, and want to make a start on my Sheffield poster. That also means I won't be going to many of the sessions here. Not really a bad thing.
One part of that last comment was a joke, btw.
I like the way that you warned us you wouldnt be able to blog much then proceeded to blog more than anyone else.
btw, I heard that if you're going to san francisco be sure to wear a flower in your hair. I'm not sure why, but you'd better do it as a precaution.

When are you in Sheffield?
Back in UK on 3rd Nov, conference 8th - 10th. I doubt I'll do too much on the poster this week as need to start the presentation for Friday now :-(
